I'm quite giddy  ;D  The Mire has become all lovely and busy with gig things  8)   ... and new songs in the offing  ;D  I may have to go lie down lest the
excitement gives me cause to have need of the smelling salts ( actually don't have any but the socks I wore all weekend at Bearded Theory should suffice .....

Just wondered if anyone else is going to Hay next week!! There are still tickets fo sale. There are 6 of us going together - so not sure if there is going to be much room for dancing - but can't imagine we are going to stay in our seats for long!! Hoping for good weather too!

...of course it was as marvellous as usual  !   ;D 8)
All played and sang their socks off  :)
First festy I've heard them play where ladies of a certain age were so very vocal in their appreciation !  :o
A lady to my right shouted something relating to the removal of a certain article of Seth's clothing and then another lady, possibly about me own age, shouted "Seth, you need an older woman ! "
I was shocked !   :o

I'm sure they were all about the music too mind you  ;)

Not long home v tiredso spelling may be awful on this tiny wee keyboard. Found venue no trouble as been there plenty and round corner from Dancebase been there too much. All worries unfounded on Caitlin looking too young. The Crian String Quartet were support they were very good. We had noticed there was a distinct lack of Scots in the massive early queue, mass mix of folk from elsewhere. Mid set a huge voice asked folk to be quiet. They were trying to guess that tune. After that quite a debate ensued never ever heard such aggression at the front of a Seth gig. I could feel my children cringing incase I butted in. I settled for reassurance. Lets face it when Seth and the guys walk on that stage and began to play everythings always ok. Never felt intimidated at a Seth gig it was oddly out of place. They came on and played amazingly like they always do but this one was special. The audience was immensley appreciative and extraordinally loud. Steve someone was in Seans spot. We all heard a different name. He was very good, must have been as Cat decideafd she didn't mind it wasn't Sean and she's set in her ways on that. Ill come along with a running order later. I believe Sean will be along later according to Lachl and Cat anyway. Cormac and Ben were ace and Lisbee was too. My children seem to adore her.We wondered out about last ter the usual liquid rooms toilet confusion. Who was stood outside still signing, yes you got it Seth. Made their night. Odd they really don't care about the fame thing but they love the whole sign photo thing in this one instance. Funny I keep saying its my lassies first grown up gig but obviously not but thankfully she's past the age a certain band pretend she's their daughter to ensure entry! Next month it'll be actually fine! Looking forward to October.. Bold Knight Solomon Brown Apple in h eye Blacksmiths Prayer The White Hare (Cats fav she chattered for ages about it) Kitty Jay Lady of the Sea Changes (Tear to my eye everytime) oh lots but I've a feeling the lists under her pillow where they all go.
Thank you very much to whoever made it over fourteens aswell. Contrary to what some folk think they always ask to go cos they love it. They had a bizarre conversation in the car home about Seths songs being living and evolving all the time they love that. Swifty was compared unfavourably then they fell asleep. F antastic night.
(Looking forward to hearing if cats english teacher went don't think they've had an assignment she's not managed to bring Seths kyrics into as an example.)

Just thought for those not on facebook (which is pants in my opinion compared with forums such as the Mire) I would share this:

I am a building surveyor and I am involved with a project in Bath adjoining the Komedia. I recently had to carry out an inspection of the building which involved looking at the stage area.

I remember that the gig Seth and the band played just before the release of Hearts & Minds was filmed and included in the video. I recall that Seth literally jumped out of the curtain when he ran on to the stage. Well... my knowledge of the venue now is such that Seth must have shimmied with much stealth along between the wall and curtain without us knowing he was there!!

Tiny things please tiny (hearts and) minds I suppose!

Cheers, Dan :D
